The world famous brand of Indian-style curry pastes, sauces and spices, Patak's, was established by Anjali’s grandfather, a Gujarati-British entrepreneur. As well as its household sauces, pickles, and pastes the company supplies 75% of British curry houses with sauces and mixed spices, and sells ready meals to all the major UK supermarkets and other major retailers throughout Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. Patak's was sold to AB Foods for £200 million in 2007.
Anjali has been part of the business since she was very small, and can still remember putting labels onto jars when she was a small child. Anjali remains as the “face” of the Patak brand, and is integral to product development, providing the inspiration to new recipes for the business.
Anjali is a qualified chef and nutritionist, and is an exciting talent with a fun loving and warm character. Anjali has stepped out of her original cookery heritage. She is a respected chef, food writer and cookery teacher and has been shortlisted for a number of awards or her work with Indian food. Anjali’s own entrepreneurial ventures include her own cookbook, regular TV and celebrity chef engagements and her new cookery school initiative in Mumbai.
Anjali uses her experiences of running a family business on an epic scale to inspire, motivate and entertain audiences internationally.
